A free workshop was held about the Importance of ADEQUATE MEDICAL COVERAGE and the EXTRA Health Insurance benefits available for your child receiving services from the Early Intervention Program.LEARNING HOW THESE PROGRAMS CAN HELP WITH:
- Paying for medical bills and reducing out of pocket costs
- Renewing your Medicaid Insurance on time and avoiding loss of coverage
- Providing benefits and resources through the Children with Special Health Care Needs Program
- Informing you of the eligibility for these benefits through one of our Child Benefit Advisors assigned to help applicants.
The Office of Health Insurance Services (OHIS) in partnership with the Early Intervention Program (EIP), have been collaborating on reaching families and children in EIP to provide them with health insurance assistance. These services have proven to be extremely beneficial to not only those without health insurance, but those who have insurance and yet not have enough due to medical needs and high health care cost.
Recently a new initiative has begun known as “Family Days” which are parent workshops at various Early Intervention Programs and New York City Department of Health sites.
This most vital event is centered around health insurance and other services available through the Office of health Insurance Services. Refreshment was provided but most importantly, information was available along with OHIS representatives who could address the concerns of parents and their children.
